As a roofing contractor certified by Owens Corning to offer and install its products, Howard Roofing & Home Improvements is proud to share that the roofing materials manufacturer has recently issued a green bond worth $450 million. Now, what does this mean? More importantly, what would this mean for homeowners like you?
An Investment in Sustainability
Last August, Owens Corning completed the issuance of its first green bond. The $450-million bond is payable over 10 years. In conjunction with the said bond, the company is committed to spend a whopping $445 million on eligible projects focused on sustainability.
Owens Corning has been dedicated to operating an enterprise that benefits both its shareholders and the environment. The funds are used to further the company’s efforts related to energy efficiency, renewable energy, and eco-friendly products, technologies, and processes.
The fund will support long-term power investments and purchase agreements for renewable energy, as well as investments that aim to increase energy efficiency in internal processes and projects. The fund will also be used to invest in eco-efficient programs, such as waste reduction and recycling.
Currently, the fund is also being used for various projects that aim to benefit consumers and customers. These include research and the development of sustainable and eco-friendly products.
